Quality online education empowers the future workforce. In August 2013, President Obama described online courses as a major component of a larger plan to reform higher education. He cited Georgia Tech’s online Master’s in Computer Science program, which billed at a fraction of the cost per credit hour of the in-person program. The President said: “...a lot of other schools are experimenting with [online] ideas to keep tuition down. They’ve got other ways to help students graduate in less time and less cost, while still maintaining high quality. The point is it’s possible.
